What We Do – 

POAO endeavors to speak with credibility on issues in criminal justice, facilitate increased understanding of the specialized role of the Probation Officer, provide representative perspectives on legislative issues to policymakers, provide a forum for the exchange of professional experience and opinion, promote good fellowship and esprit de corps among members, foster goodwill, understanding, and cooperation with others working in the criminal justice system and educate and involve the community in corrections. To foster an interdisciplinary approach to the role of Probation Officer through strengthening the role of Probation Officers on community teams. Help increase the opportunities for clients and their families through effective case management and incorporating a collaborative approach to the work we do.
